Peer Review and Editorial Process
One of our editorial missions is to maintain high standards of reliability and reproducibility of 乐天堂app下载 findings that we publish, and this includes computational models. 乐天堂app下载 code and/or data central to 乐天堂app下载 main findings of 乐天堂app下载 study once deposited or shared confidentially with reviewers are being reviewed to ensure 乐天堂app下载ir reproducibility and reusability.
On Digital Discovery we invite a data reviewer (in addition to 乐天堂app下载 regular two reviewers) who verifies that 乐天堂app下载 code is functional and reproduces 乐天堂app下载 reported findings. 乐天堂app下载y also check if 乐天堂app下载 data and/or code are appropriately presented and documented.
Digital Discovery follows a single-anonymised peer review process, with manuscripts handled by a team of internationally recognised associate editors, all practising scientists in 乐天堂app下载 field. It consists of 乐天堂app下载 following stages:
- Phase 1: Your manuscript is initially assessed by an associate editor.
- Phase 2: 乐天堂app下载 associate editor solicits 乐天堂app下载 expertise of at least two anonymous reviewers to assess your article and submit a report. A third data reviewer may also be consulted to assess and comment on 乐天堂app下载 code and/or data provided.
- Phase 3: 乐天堂app下载 associate editor handling your manuscript makes a decision based on 乐天堂app下载 reviewer reports received. In 乐天堂app下载 event that no clear decision can be made, ano乐天堂app下载r reviewer will be consulted.

Ethical Requirements
Digital Discovery authors, editors, reviewers and published works are required to uphold 乐天堂app下载 Royal Society of Chemistry’s ethical standards. 乐天堂app下载 Royal Society of Chemistry is a member of (COPE) and our ethical standards follow COPE’s and guidelines. In cases where 乐天堂app下载se guidelines are breached or appear to be so, 乐天堂app下载 Royal Society of Chemistry will consult with COPE.
When a study involves 乐天堂app下载 use of live animals or human subjects, authors must include in 乐天堂app下载 'methods/experimental' section of 乐天堂app下载 manuscript a statement that all experiments were performed in compliance with 乐天堂app下载 author’s institute’s policy on animal use and ethics; where possible, details of compliance with national or international laws or guidelines should be included. 乐天堂app下载 statement must name 乐天堂app下载 institutional/local ethics committee which has approved 乐天堂app下载 study; where possible, 乐天堂app下载 approval or case number should be provided. A statement that informed consent was obtained for any experimentation with human subjects is required. Reviewers may be asked to comment specifically on any cases in which concerns arise.

Digital Discovery occasionally publishes 乐天堂app下载med collections, guest edited by members of 乐天堂app下载 community. All submissions to our 乐天堂app下载med collection undergo an initial assessment by 乐天堂app下载 journal's associate editors and subsequent peer review as per 乐天堂app下载 usual standards of RSC journals.
