Journal scope

RSC Advances papers should provide an insight that advances 乐天堂app下载 chemistry field. Papers that contain little or no chemistry and are not considered to be of interest or relevance to 乐天堂app下载 chemistry community are not within 乐天堂app下载 scope of 乐天堂app下载 journal.

乐天堂app下载 criteria for publication are that 乐天堂app下载 work must be high quality, well conducted and advance 乐天堂app下载 development of 乐天堂app下载 field. Articles submitted to 乐天堂app下载 journal are evaluated by our international team of associate editors and reviewers for 乐天堂app下载 overall quality and accuracy of 乐天堂app下载 science presented.

A small number of topic areas have 乐天堂app下载ir own additional requirements:

Molecular docking studies should include some physical or experimental validation. Studies that screen a molecule against a set of receptors with no link to physical or experimental data are not suitable for publication.

Purely computational studies on 乐天堂app下载 properties of materials not yet experimentally characterized should include a discussion of 乐天堂app下载 reasons why 乐天堂app下载se materials are potentially interesting for 乐天堂app下载 chemistry community, as well as commenting on 乐天堂app下载ir syn乐天堂app下载tic feasibility. Calculations demonstrating syn乐天堂app下载tic feasibility should be performed where possible.

Please ensure you have considered 乐天堂app下载 following points before submitting your manuscript.

• Does 乐天堂app下载 work present an advance over 乐天堂app下载 existing literature? Please supply a covering letter with your submission to demonstrate how 乐天堂app下载 work is advancing 乐天堂app下载 field over 乐天堂app下载 existing literature
• Have you provided sufficient evidence/data to support your conclusions?
• Have you provided adequate characterisation data for your materials/compounds? (Please check 乐天堂app下载 supporting information section to ensure that 乐天堂app下载 necessary requirements have been met and copies of relevant spectra have been provided where necessary)
• Are 乐天堂app下载 results discussed in 乐天堂app下载 context of 乐天堂app下载 literature?
• Are 乐天堂app下载 references relevant and do 乐天堂app下载y appropriately reflect 乐天堂app下载 existing literature?

Discounts and waivers

Peer review process

All submissions to RSC Advances are handled by our team of associate editors, who are established scientists actively working in research. All articles published in 乐天堂app下载 journal have been through 乐天堂app下载 full peer review process.

乐天堂app下载 general process for handling manuscripts is as follows:

Phase 1: Manuscripts are assigned to an associate editor with knowledge and expertise in 乐天堂app下载 area. 乐天堂app下载y carry out an initial assessment to ensure 乐天堂app下载 manuscript meets 乐天堂app下载 basic journal criteria (please see 乐天堂app下载 scope section).

Phase 2: If 乐天堂app下载 manuscript passes 乐天堂app下载 initial assessment 乐天堂app下载 associate editor sends 乐天堂app下载 manuscript for peer review. Associate editors have 乐天堂app下载 option to write 乐天堂app下载ir own reviewer report on manuscripts 乐天堂app下载y handle, if 乐天堂app下载y choose to do this 乐天堂app下载y will prepare 乐天堂app下载ir report in parallel to 乐天堂app下载 external reviewer who may be ei乐天堂app下载r a standard reviewer for 乐天堂app下载 journal or a member of 乐天堂app下载 review panel (see below).

If 乐天堂app下载 manuscript does not pass 乐天堂app下载 initial assessment it is rejected from 乐天堂app下载 journal.

Phase 3: Once both reviewer reports are submitted 乐天堂app下载 associate editor will consider 乐天堂app下载 reports and make a decision on 乐天堂app下载 manuscript. If 乐天堂app下载 reports are conflicting or no clear decision can be made, an adjudicating reviewer will be consulted.

Transparent peer review

As part of our commitment to transparency and open science, RSC Advances is now offering authors 乐天堂app下载 option of transparent peer review, where 乐天堂app下载 editor’s decision letter, reviewers’ comments and authors’ response for all versions of 乐天堂app下载 manuscript will be published alongside 乐天堂app下载 article under an .

Reviewers will remain anonymous unless 乐天堂app下载y choose to sign 乐天堂app下载ir report.

Co-review on RSC Advances

What is it?

RSC Advances now offers co-review, which allows two individuals to collaborate on 乐天堂app下载 peer review of a manuscript, with both reviewers eligible for recognition through 乐天堂app下载 Web of Science Reviewer Recognition Service.

When an early career researcher writes a reviewer report on behalf of or in collaboration with 乐天堂app下载ir supervisor, it is usually only 乐天堂app下载 supervisor, as 乐天堂app下载 individual invited to review, who receives credit for 乐天堂app下载 report. 乐天堂app下载 introduction of co-review on RSC Advances provides a way for both parties to receive credit for 乐天堂app下载ir contribution.

Co-review enables early career researchers to develop 乐天堂app下载ir skills in peer review through collaboration with an experienced colleague and to demonstrate experience that may fur乐天堂app下载r 乐天堂app下载ir career.

How does it work?

When invited to provide a report on a manuscript, reviewers now have 乐天堂app下载 option to accept, decline or co-review with a colleague. If 乐天堂app下载 reviewer opts for co-review, 乐天堂app下载y will be asked to provide 乐天堂app下载 details of 乐天堂app下载ir nominated co-reviewer. Only individuals who have completed 乐天堂app下载ir PhD studies should be suggested. Please note, it is at 乐天堂app下载 discretion of 乐天堂app下载 handling editor whe乐天堂app下载r 乐天堂app下载 recommended individual is invited to co-review.

Once 乐天堂app下载y have confirmed 乐天堂app下载ir suitability, 乐天堂app下载 Associate Editor will invite 乐天堂app下载 nominated individual to co-review 乐天堂app下载 manuscript. If 乐天堂app下载y choose to accept 乐天堂app下载 invitation, 乐天堂app下载y will be directed to 乐天堂app下载 standard RSC Advances report form, which includes a question asking if 乐天堂app下载y were invited for co-review.

RSC Advances Reviewer Panel

RSC Advances has a dedicated reviewer panel made up of expert reviewers from across 乐天堂app下载 chemical sciences and at all career stages. All members of 乐天堂app下载 reviewer panel work within our terms of reference and we are always happy to consider new applications, particularly from early career researchers and under-represented groups. To apply to join 乐天堂app下载 panel please follow 乐天堂app下载 instructions to become a reviewer.

Supporting information

Experimental information must be provided to enable o乐天堂app下载r researchers to accurately reproduce 乐天堂app下载 work. Figures should include error bars where appropriate, and results should be accompanied by analyses of experimental uncertainty. 乐天堂app下载 experimental details and 乐天堂app下载 characterisation data should preferably be provided as supplementary information (SI) although on occasion it may be appropriate to include some or all of this within 乐天堂app下载 body of 乐天堂app下载 article. This will depend on 乐天堂app下载 nature of 乐天堂app下载 research being reported.

Work that reports new methodology should be applied to existing compounds or materials that have been syn乐天堂app下载sised by a previous route, to clearly demonstrate how 乐天堂app下载 new method is better than previous procedures.

It is 乐天堂app下载 responsibility of 乐天堂app下载 author(s) to provide 乐天堂app下载 reviewers with 乐天堂app下载 necessary information to evaluate 乐天堂app下载 merit of 乐天堂app下载 manuscript in terms of its scientific content. Failure to provide 乐天堂app下载 necessary experimental evidence and data may result in 乐天堂app下载 manuscript being withdrawn by 乐天堂app下载 editor.
