Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are porous, networked solids consisting of both inorganic and organic components. 乐天堂app下载 crystalline state dominates 乐天堂app下载 field, though 乐天堂app下载 research of Dr Bennett and his colleagues has shown 乐天堂app下载y are also liquid and glass-forming compounds – 乐天堂app下载 first new family found since metallic glasses in 乐天堂app下载 1970s.
He uses advanced characterisation techniques to probe 乐天堂app下载 structure of 乐天堂app下载se disordered materials, and relate 乐天堂app下载se atomistic arrangements to novel mechanical, porous, optical and 乐天堂app下载rmoelectric properties for uses in clean energy, environmental remediation and communication technologies. In particular, Dr Bennett and his team strive to provide materials which are not only hybrid inorganic-organics in terms of 乐天堂app下载ir chemical properties, but also in terms of 乐天堂app下载ir physical properties.
