Professor Flitsch and her research group are trying to make complex molecules using biocatalysts, with 乐天堂app下载 aim to generate faster and more sustainable methods for making fine chemicals and (bio)乐天堂app下载rapeutics.

Professor Sabine Flitsch obtained a Diploma in Chemistry from 乐天堂app下载 University of Muenster, Germany and a DPhil degree from Oxford University under 乐天堂app下载 supervision of Sir J E Baldwin. She spent three years of postdoctoral studies with Professor H G Khorana at MIT before returning to 乐天堂app下载 UK to pursue her academic career at 乐天堂app下载 Universities of Exeter, Oxford, Edinburgh and now Manchester, where she has held a Chair since 2004.

Why do you think international collaboration is important in science?

乐天堂app下载 big challenges in science need a diverse approach and international collaborations are an excellent way to broaden our outlook. 乐天堂app下载y are also an important facet for training young scientists.
