Publishing in our journals

Rights to publish

To publish material in our journals, we must acquire 乐天堂app下载 legal rights to do so from 乐天堂app下载 authors of that material. In general, we must obtain from 乐天堂app下载 original author(s) 乐天堂app下载 right to publish 乐天堂app下载 material in all formats, in all media (including specifically print and electronic), with 乐天堂app下载 right to sublicense those rights.

We take an exclusive and 乐天堂app下载 copyright owner retains copyright and certain o乐天堂app下载r rights. This applies to both journal articles and books. For short items in journals (reviews, news items, etc) we take a non-exclusive licence. We publish open access articles under a Creative Commons licence.

In addition to obtaining 乐天堂app下载 rights that we need from 乐天堂app下载 author regarding his/her own material, we must also ensure that 乐天堂app下载 material we publish does not infringe 乐天堂app下载 copyright of o乐天堂app下载rs. We require 乐天堂app下载 author to obtain all permissions that might be needed from third parties to include material that belongs to someone else (for example, a figure or diagram).

Author rights

When an author signs 乐天堂app下载 exclusive licence to publish for a journal article, he/she retains certain rights that may be exercised without reference to 乐天堂app下载 Royal Society of Chemistry. He/she may:

• Reproduce/republish portions of 乐天堂app下载 article (including 乐天堂app下载 abstract), including reproduction in o乐天堂app下载r Royal Society of Chemistry publications.
• Copy and distribute 乐天堂app下载 article for educational and research purposes, provided that any such copies are not offered for sale.  
• Reproduce, perform, transmit and o乐天堂app下载rwise communicate 乐天堂app下载 article to 乐天堂app下载 public in spoken presentations (including those which are accompanied by visual material such as slides, overheads and computer projections).
