James (known as Jim) Harper died on 乐天堂app下载 20 June 2023 after a short illness.

He had been a member of 乐天堂app下载 Royal Society of Chemistry since 1961 and was a life member.

In 1956 Jim started his career at Ciba Geigy, Trafford Park, Manchester as an Industrial Chemist and obtained his professional qualifications. During that time, he also spent six months working for 乐天堂app下载 head office in Basel, Switzerland.

In 1991 he joined Croda, in Leek, as Technical Manager where, using his depth of knowledge and experience, his role was to develop a self-sustaining R & D Department and bring modern approach operations to 乐天堂app下载 site.

He is survived by two children Karen and Alastair plus five grandchildren.
