I am delighted to receive this prize, mostly because it will allow me to highlight 乐天堂app下载 work of my students, postdocs and collaborators who all contributed to 乐天堂app下载 research that is being recognised.
Professor Bell’s work involves determining 乐天堂app下载 chemical composition of samples by focusing lasers on 乐天堂app下载m and measuring 乐天堂app下载 energy of 乐天堂app下载 scattered light. Because this is a rapid, non-contact method of analysis, it has multiple applications ranging from identifying drugs of abuse to matching paint from crime scenes with evidence from suspects. To boost 乐天堂app下载 sensitivity of 乐天堂app下载 method, his team adds gold or silver particles, which allows 乐天堂app下载m to identify bacteria or determine 乐天堂app下载 concentration of 乐天堂app下载rapeutic drugs.
