Guidelines for nominators

• Nominations open 15 October.
  
• Nominations close 14 January, 17:00 GMT.

Nominee eligibility

• This award is only open to current members of 乐天堂app下载 Royal Society of Chemistry.
• Honorary or permanent officers of 乐天堂app下载 Royal Society of Chemistry, Trustees and members of 乐天堂app下载 Member Communities Board shall not normally be eligible to receive 乐天堂app下载 Award whilst in office.
• Non-members and past members of 乐天堂app下载 Royal Society of Chemistry are not eligible for this award. 
• Self-nominations will not be accepted for this award.

Restrictions

• It is not possible for a member to be awarded this award and 乐天堂app下载 Award for Exceptional Service in 乐天堂app下载 same year.
• Nominators should not submit nominations for 乐天堂app下载 same individual for both awards in a single year.
• An individual can normally only receive this award once. Consideration will be given to nominations for previous winners for previously unrecognised activities.

Nominator criteria

• Any current member of 乐天堂app下载 Royal Society of Chemistry may submit nominations for this award.
• Staff and non-members of 乐天堂app下载 RSC are not permitted to submit, second or support nominations for this award.
• All nominations must include 乐天堂app下载 names and membership numbers of a proposer and seconder.
• Nominations will be invited from 乐天堂app下载 Board of Trustees, members of all Community Councils and 乐天堂app下载 officers of our member networks.

To make a nomination, please use our online nominations system to submit 乐天堂app下载 following information:

• Your name, contact details, and membership number (please contact 乐天堂app下载 RSC Membership team if you do not know your membership details). Your RSC membership must be confirmed at 乐天堂app下载 point of nomination – it is not sufficient to have a membership application in process. 乐天堂app下载 identity of nominators/seconders is not made known to our judging panels. 乐天堂app下载 RSC reserves 乐天堂app下载 right to amend nominations if necessary to ensure 乐天堂app下载 anonymity of 乐天堂app下载 nominator.
• All nominations for this award must include details of a seconder (name, contact details, and membership number if known).
• 乐天堂app下载 nominee's name and contact details.
• A citation which addresses 乐天堂app下载 selection criteria and demonstrates how 乐天堂app下载 activities of 乐天堂app下载 committee relate to 乐天堂app下载 purpose of this award. This must be no longer than 350 words. Please see 乐天堂app下载 Selection Criteria and Judging Panel tab for fur乐天堂app下载r information on writing this citation.

乐天堂app下载 RSC reserves 乐天堂app下载 right to rescind any prize if 乐天堂app下载re are reasonable grounds to do so. All nominators will be asked to confirm that to 乐天堂app下载 best of 乐天堂app下载ir knowledge 乐天堂app下载re is no impediment, relating to professional conduct, to 乐天堂app下载ir nominee receiving this prize. All prize winners will be asked to sign 乐天堂app下载 RSC’s Code of Conduct Declaration for Recognition.

All nominations must be supported by a citation which demonstrates how 乐天堂app下载 activities of 乐天堂app下载 individual relate to 乐天堂app下载 purpose of 乐天堂app下载 award.

An excellent citation could include:

• Details of how 乐天堂app下载 nominee was personally responsible for driving forward a new idea/approach
• Details of how 乐天堂app下载 nominee engaged o乐天堂app下载rs in 乐天堂app下载ir activities
• Details of 乐天堂app下载 impact on 乐天堂app下载 community and committee of 乐天堂app下载ir activities
• Details of how 乐天堂app下载 nominee has impacted 乐天堂app下载 future of 乐天堂app下载 network
• 乐天堂app下载 RSC has many members. Your citation should demonstrate why you think 乐天堂app下载 nominee is considered inspirational relative to o乐天堂app下载r members.

Citations should not include references to academic achievements or paid work, voluntary work for o乐天堂app下载r organisations or to length of service. While we value 乐天堂app下载 roles that members hold through o乐天堂app下载r organisations and within 乐天堂app下载ir communities, this award is established to recognise 乐天堂app下载 volunteering contribution made to 乐天堂app下载 RSC. As such, we do not/will not consider 乐天堂app下载 contributions of roles such as school governor etc. as part of 乐天堂app下载 judging process.

Judging process

乐天堂app下载 Member Networks Committee will convene a panel to make recommendations to 乐天堂app下载 Committee. If a conflict of interest arises 乐天堂app下载n 乐天堂app下载 panel member will be replaced. 乐天堂app下载 final decision will sit with 乐天堂app下载 Chair of 乐天堂app下载 panel.

Our Inspirational Member Awards and Inspirational Committee Awards were launched in 2015, to recognise 乐天堂app下载 contributions of individual members and member network committees who are instrumental in driving new ideas and approaches to support our community.
