With 175 years of history, we are 乐天堂app下载 oldest chemical society in 乐天堂app下载 world
Our mission is to advance excellence in 乐天堂app下载 chemical sciences and this has been 乐天堂app下载 case since 1841 when 77 scientists 鈥� including doctors, academics, manufacturers and entrepreneurs 鈥� formed 乐天堂app下载 Chemical Society of London, with dialysis inventor Thomas Graham as 乐天堂app下载ir first President.
Seven years later Queen Victoria granted a Royal Charter to 乐天堂app下载 Society, confirming its purpose of "乐天堂app下载 general advancement of Chemical Science".
After 175 years our mission is just as relevant and valid; our work today still fulfils 乐天堂app下载 roles undertaken by all four long-established bodies. But we pursue that mission on a scale 乐天堂app下载 first 77 members would find inconceivable. We now have over 54,000 members across 乐天堂app下载 world, an internationally-renowned not-for-profit publishing and knowledge business, and a reputation as an influential champion for 乐天堂app下载 chemical sciences.
