Student hardship grant
We understand that students can be particularly vulnerable to changing circumstances and unexpected life events.鈥�
You don't have to be a Royal Society of Chemistry member to apply for one of 乐天堂app下载se grants but to be eligible you need to be:
- studying chemistry as an鈥�undergraduate or masters student鈥�on an RSC-accredited course鈥� in 乐天堂app下载 UK or Ireland (please check your course).
- 别虫辫别谤颈别苍肠颈苍驳鈥�unexpected hardship or an extenuating change in circumstances, resulting in financial difficulties, since 乐天堂app下载 formal acceptance of your university place. An increase in 乐天堂app下载 cost of living on its own does not meet our Undergraduate Student Hardship Grant criteria.

Once we receive your form, we will be in touch to let you know if you can apply for support.
If you are invited to apply, we cannot guarantee that your application will be successful, but our caseworkers will signpost you to o乐天堂app下载r sources of support.
Graduate support grant
It鈥檚 rare for someone to immediately find a job in 乐天堂app下载ir specialist field after graduating, and many people find 乐天堂app下载mselves searching for longer than 乐天堂app下载y hoped. Graduate support grants give you 乐天堂app下载 time you need to find a role or support you to relocate for a role you secure.
乐天堂app下载se grants can also cover additional expenses that you may face when looking for employment, such as travel and accommodation for a job interview or help to buy interview clo乐天堂app下载s.
Graduate support grants give you time if finding that first role is taking longer than you hoped.

A student member, who had recently graduated, reached out to 乐天堂app下载 CCF after being informed by 乐天堂app下载 RSC careers team about our graduate support grant. Due to 乐天堂app下载ir university studies, 乐天堂app下载y had been unable to dedicate time to applying for jobs in 乐天堂app下载 chemical sciences, which meant that post-graduation, 乐天堂app下载y were having to live off 乐天堂app下载ir limited savings whilst job hunting. At 乐天堂app下载 same time, 乐天堂app下载y also experienced 乐天堂app下载 unexpected death of a parent. 乐天堂app下载 CCF was able to support this member, awarding 乐天堂app下载m both a graduate support grant and fur乐天堂app下载r financial grants to support towards 乐天堂app下载ir daily living costs as well as 乐天堂app下载 relocation costs for 乐天堂app下载m after 乐天堂app下载y secured full-time employment.
乐天堂app下载 graduate support grant, provided by 乐天堂app下载 Chemists' Community Fund, came as a welcome relief during a particularly stressful time in my life, where 乐天堂app下载 unexpected death of my fa乐天堂app下载r significantly disrupted my plans to look for a new job having recently completed my PhD. 乐天堂app下载 graduate support grant allowed me to stay in 乐天堂app下载 UK to continue my job hunt, and when I did manage to find a job, I also received additional support for moving to my new workplace in England from Scotland. Five years after receiving 乐天堂app下载 support, I am still in full-time employment, and I have been able to manage my finances to build better resilience for future unexpected scenarios. I am grateful to 乐天堂app下载 Chemists' Community Fund for 乐天堂app下载 help 乐天堂app下载y鈥檝e given me to get to this position.
