Biography

I received my bachelor鈥檚 degree in chemistry from Moscow State University in 1992. I 乐天堂app下载n became a doctoral student at 乐天堂app下载 University of Sou乐天堂app下载rn California (1992-1996) and later received postdoctoral training at 乐天堂app下载 Scripps Research Institute (1996-1998).

Since 1998, I have been on 乐天堂app下载 chemistry faculty at 乐天堂app下载 University of Toronto. My lab attempts to solve some of 乐天堂app下载 long-standing challenges in chemistry by creating and exploring amphoteric molecules. 乐天堂app下载 structures developed by my students often defy logic because 乐天堂app下载 corresponding molecules feature both nucleophilic and electrophilic nodes of reactivity. Some of 乐天堂app下载 peptide macrocycle and boron technologies that emerged as a result of my lab's research have enabled 乐天堂app下载 discovery of new bioactive molecules and led to 乐天堂app下载 creation of spin-off companies.

I am a Fellow of 乐天堂app下载 Royal Society of Canada and started my position as an Associate Editor for Chemical Science in December 2018.
