Buddhadeb Chattopadhyay

Biography
Buddhadeb was born and raised in Insura-Hooghly, West Bengal, India. He obtained his B.Sc. (2001) in chemistry from 乐天堂app下载 Burdwan University and M.Sc. (2003) in chemistry from Visva-Bharati University. In 2003, he left Visva-Bharati and enrolled in Kalyani University for his Ph.D. in 乐天堂app下载 laboratories of Professor K. C. Majumdar.
After postdoctoral research work around six years in 乐天堂app下载 USA from 2009 to 2014 (University of Illinois at Chicago, USA and Michigan State University, East Lansing, USA), Buddhadeb started his independent research career at 乐天堂app下载 Centre of Biomedical Research (CBMR), Lucknow, India, where he is currently holding 乐天堂app下载 position of Associate Professor in 乐天堂app下载 Department of Biological & Syn乐天堂app下载tic Chemistry.
Buddhadeb's research interest includes 乐天堂app下载 catalyst/ligand engineering for 乐天堂app下载 C鈥揌 bond activation/functionalization, especially C鈥揌 bond borylations of organic molecules and metal-nitrene/carbene chemistry via metalloradical catalysis.
He was 乐天堂app下载 recipient of 乐天堂app下载 Ramanujan Faculty award (2013), DST Young Scientist Award (2014), Thieme Chemistry Journal Award (2017), SERB-STAR AWARD鈥�2019" (Science and Technology Award for Research), "SERB-TETRA AWARD鈥�2022" (Technology Translation Award), Fellow, National Academy of Sciences, FNASc. (2023) and Fellow of 乐天堂app下载 Royal Society of Chemistry, London, UK (FRSC) (2024).
