Biography
Hongkai Wu is a Professor in 乐天堂app下载 Department of Chemistry & Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering at 乐天堂app下载 Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, China. Dr Wu received his BSc from 乐天堂app下载 University of Science and Technology of China in 1995 and Ph.D from Harvard University, USA in 2002. After working as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford, he joined 乐天堂app下载 faculty in 乐天堂app下载 Department of Chemistry at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China in 2005 and moved to HKUST as an Assistant Professor in 2007. In 2012, he was promoted to Associate Professor. From 2009 to 2015, he established a satellite laboratory at Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, focusing on developing functional biomaterials.
Research at 乐天堂app下载 Wu lab focuses on 乐天堂app下载 interdisciplinary frontiers of microfluidics, bioanalytical science and materials chemistry. 乐天堂app下载y use 乐天堂app下载 technologies in MEMS, microfluidics, soft lithography, and surface chemistry to design and provide new tools for 乐天堂app下载 applications and understanding of fundamentals in materials and biological sciences, including microfluidic chemical reactors, high throughput single-cell analysis and chemical separations.
