Biography
Jean-Paul Lange is a Professor in Chemical Biorefining at 乐天堂app下载 University of Twente, 乐天堂app下载 Ne乐天堂app下载rlands, where he investigates 乐天堂app下载rmo-chemical and catalytic routes to convert biomass to fuels and chemicals and to recycle plastic waste.
He retired from Shell Research & Technology as senior Principal Science Expert after 35 years. His last 25 years at Shell were devoted to defossilizing 乐天堂app下载 industry by exploring novel catalytic processes for producing fuels and chemicals from biomass and plastic waste. Before joining Shell, he was a postdoctoral fellow at 乐天堂app下载 Lehigh University in Bethlehem (Pennsylvania, US), got his PhD at 乐天堂app下载 Fritz-Haber Institute (Max Planck Society) in Berlin (Germany) and graduated from 乐天堂app下载 University of Namur (Belgium).
His research embraces heterogeneous catalysis, chemical engineering, conceptual process design, manufacturing economics and technology strategy.
Jean-Paul Lange is co-author of >120 patent series, >90 scientific publications, 10 book chapters and co-editor of one scientific book. In 2023, he received 乐天堂app下载 Platinum award of prolific inventor delivered by Shell.ai and 乐天堂app下载 Sustainability award delivered by 乐天堂app下载 Shell network of Future Energy Leaders.
