Biography

Linda Broadbelt is Sarah Rebecca Roland Professor in 乐天堂app下载 Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering and 乐天堂app下载 Associate Dean for Research of 乐天堂app下载 McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science at Northwestern University.  She was Chair of 乐天堂app下载 Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering from 2009-2017.  She was also appointed 乐天堂app下载 Donald and June Brewer Junior Professor from 1994-1996. She has completed 乐天堂app下载 short course Business for Scientists and Engineers through 乐天堂app下载 Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Her research and teaching interests are in 乐天堂app下载 areas of multiscale modeling, complex kinetics modeling, environmental catalysis, novel biochemical pathways, and polymerization/depolymerization kinetics.  She served as 乐天堂app下载 Past Chair, Chair, First Vice Chair and Second Vice Chair of 乐天堂app下载 Catalysis and Reaction Engineering Division of AIChE, and also previously served on 乐天堂app下载 Executive Board of 乐天堂app下载 National Program Committee of AIChE.  She is currently an Associate Editor for Industrial &Engineering Chemistry Research.

Her honors include selection as 乐天堂app下载 winner of 乐天堂app下载 R.H. Wilhelm Award in Chemical Reaction Engineering from AIChE, 乐天堂app下载 E.V. Murphree Award in Industrial Chemistry and Engineering from 乐天堂app下载 American Chemical Society, 乐天堂app下载 Dorothy Ann and Clarence Ver Steeg Award, a CAREER Award from 乐天堂app下载 National Science Foundation, and an AIChE Women鈥檚 Initiative Committee Mentorship Excellence Award, selection as a Fellow of 乐天堂app下载 American Association for 乐天堂app下载 Advancement of Science, a Fellow of AIChE, and a Fulbright Distinguished Scholar, appointment to 乐天堂app下载 Defense Science Study Group of 乐天堂app下载 Institute for Defense Analyses, and selection as 乐天堂app下载 Su Distinguished Lecturer at University of Rochester, Ernest W. Thiele Lecturer at 乐天堂app下载 University of Notre Dame and 乐天堂app下载 Allan P. Colburn Lecturer at 乐天堂app下载 University of Delaware.
