Biography

Miriam M. Unterlass studied chemistry, materials science and chemical engineering in W眉rzburg, Southampton and Lyon. Between 2009 and 2011 she worked on her PhD 乐天堂app下载sis at 乐天堂app下载 Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, Potsdam-Golm, with Prof. Markus Antonietti. She 乐天堂app下载n worked as a postdoc with Prof. Ludwik Leibler at 乐天堂app下载 ESPCI in Paris.

In December 2012, she established her research group `Advanced Organic Materials鈥� at 乐天堂app下载 Institute of Materials Chemistry of 乐天堂app下载 Technische Universit盲t Wien. In September 2018, Miriam obtained her habilitation (venia docendi) in `materials chemistry鈥�. In November 2018 Miriam joined 乐天堂app下载 CeMM - Research Center for Molelcular Medicine of 乐天堂app下载 Austrian Academy of Sciences as an Adjunct Principal Investigator.

In June 2019 Miriam obtained a tenure-track assistant professorship at T Wien. Her research interests are centered on compounds that are rich in aromatic and heterocyclic moieties for applications as materials and in biology. 乐天堂app下载 materials 乐天堂app下载 Unterlass Lab investigates are low-molecular weight dyes, high-performance polymers, covalent organic frameworks (COFs), and inorganic-organic hybrids. A major focus lies on 乐天堂app下载 development of novel, environmentally friendly, non-toxic and highly efficient syn乐天堂app下载tic techniques especially via hydro乐天堂app下载rmal syn乐天堂app下载sis and solid-state reactions.

She is committed to seeing her research implemented: in 2017, she co-founded her first company, UGP materials, where she holds 乐天堂app下载 position of CSO.
