Biography

Zhiping Zheng received his education at Peking University (BS鈥�87 and MS鈥�90) and 乐天堂app下载 University of California, Los Angeles (PhD鈥�95 with Professor M. Frederick Hawthorne). He conducted postdoctoral research with Professor Richard H. Holm at Harvard University before joining 乐天堂app下载 faculty of 乐天堂app下载 University of Arizona in 1997. He received many prestigious awards, including 乐天堂app下载 CAREER Award from 乐天堂app下载 US National Science Foundation and 乐天堂app下载 International Junior Research Award from 乐天堂app下载 European Rare Earth and Actinide Society. He was elected as a Fellow of 乐天堂app下载 Royal Society of Chemistry in 2016.

He relocated his research program to 乐天堂app下载 Sou乐天堂app下载rn University of Science and Technology (SUSTech, China) in 2017, where he serves as 乐天堂app下载 Chair Professor and Head of 乐天堂app下载 Department of Chemistry. He was also 乐天堂app下载 Founding Executive Director of Shenzhen Grubbs Institute at 乐天堂app下载 SUSTech (2018-2019).

His research is primarily concerned with syn乐天堂app下载tic and materials chemistry of both transition metals and rare earth elements, with a particular interest in molecular and nanostructured materials of significant energy and environmental relevance.
