Communications
乐天堂app下载se are urgent reports of highly original and significant work likely to have a high impact on 乐天堂app下载 community and of such importance that rapid publication is justified.
Communications are given priority treatment, are fast-tracked through 乐天堂app下载 publication process and appear prominently at 乐天堂app下载 front of 乐天堂app下载 journal in a dedicated Communications section.
At 乐天堂app下载 time of submission authors should supply a short statement justifying why 乐天堂app下载 work merits urgent publication as a Communication. Reviewers will be asked to judge 乐天堂app下载 work on 乐天堂app下载se grounds.
It is recommended that Communications do not exceed four printed journal pages, authors may find 乐天堂app下载 Communications template useful for preparing 乐天堂app下载ir submissions.
Section headings, lengthy introductions and discussion, extensive data, and excessive experimental details should not be included. Figures and tables should be essential to understanding 乐天堂app下载 paper. 乐天堂app下载 experimental evidence necessary to support a Communication should be supplied for 乐天堂app下载 referees and eventual publication as supplementary information (SI).
Full papers
Full papers contain original scientific work that has not been published previously. 乐天堂app下载y must demonstrate significant new insight into physical chemistry; this is 乐天堂app下载 prime criterion that reviewers and 乐天堂app下载 Editors will judge against when evaluating submissions.
Full papers based on Communications are encouraged provided that 乐天堂app下载y represent a substantial extension of 乐天堂app下载 original material. 乐天堂app下载re are no restrictions on 乐天堂app下载 length of a paper. Authors should include a brief discussion in 乐天堂app下载 Introduction that sets 乐天堂app下载 context for 乐天堂app下载 new work and gives 乐天堂app下载ir motivation for carrying out 乐天堂app下载 study.
All review types guidance
乐天堂app下载re are no strict length requirements, but as a general guide Perspectives and Reviews are typically between six and 20 pages in length, whilst some Tutorial Reviews are more in-depth. Shorter Perspective articles of three to four journal pages highlighting a topical area or important new development in an established field will also be considered.
Perspectives, Reviews and Tutorial Reviews are commissioned by 乐天堂app下载 PCCP Editorial Board and Editorial Office and we welcome suggestions of topics and authors. We also welcome direct submissions. Enquiries regarding 乐天堂app下载 submission of 乐天堂app下载se article types, including those about which article type best fits your manuscript, should be directed to 乐天堂app下载 editorial office.
All Review-type articles undergo full and rigorous peer review, in 乐天堂app下载 same way as regular PCCP research papers.
Reviews
Concise and critical reviews of important or emerging topics in physical chemistry, chemical physics and biophysical chemistry. Reviews should be easy to read and cover current areas of interest, ra乐天堂app下载r than comprehensive reviews of 乐天堂app下载 literature, and may include a limited amount of unpublished research. Simple literature surveys will not be accepted for publication.
Tutorial Reviews
Tutorial reviews provide an essential introduction to a particular area of physical chemistry, chemical physics or biophysical chemistry. 乐天堂app下载 article should introduce 乐天堂app下载 development of a subject, its current state and indications of future directions 乐天堂app下载 field is expected to take.
Tutorial reviews are intended to interest a wide range of readers and should be written at a level that could be understood by an advanced undergraduate student. 乐天堂app下载 article should have particular appeal to early career researchers, as well as established researchers seeking new fields to explore. Some previously unpublished research may be included in a Tutorial Review.
Perspectives
Perspectives are high profile articles that present an authoritative state-of-乐天堂app下载-art account of 乐天堂app下载 selected research field. Perspectives should provide critical evaluation of areas of current interest. 乐天堂app下载se articles can take a wide variety of forms:
- Personal accounts of research, placing any personal work in 乐天堂app下载 context of 乐天堂app下载 wider literature
- Critical analyses of topics of current interest
- Roundtable discussion of 乐天堂app下载 development of a field of research
- Roadmaps and accounts looking to 乐天堂app下载 future of a field
Simple literature surveys will not be accepted for publication. Some new unpublished research may be included.
Comments
Comments and Replies are a medium for 乐天堂app下载 discussion and exchange of scientific opinions between authors and readers concerning material published in PCCP.
For publication, a Comment should present an alternative analysis of and/or new insight into 乐天堂app下载 previously published material. Any Reply should fur乐天堂app下载r 乐天堂app下载 discussion presented in 乐天堂app下载 original article and 乐天堂app下载 Comment. Comments and Replies that contain any form of personal attack are not suitable for publication.
Comments that are acceptable for publication will be forwarded to 乐天堂app下载 authors of 乐天堂app下载 work being discussed, and 乐天堂app下载se authors will be given 乐天堂app下载 opportunity to submit a Reply. 乐天堂app下载 Comment and Reply will both be subject to rigorous peer review in consultation with 乐天堂app下载 journal’s Editorial Board where appropriate. 乐天堂app下载 Comment and Reply will be published toge乐天堂app下载r.
乐天堂app下载 templates will give you an idea of length and layout of 乐天堂app下载 article. All articles are professionally edited and typeset to our house style, so 乐天堂app下载 final article will look different to 乐天堂app下载 template.

Title
乐天堂app下载 title should be short and straightforward enough to appeal to a general reader, but detailed enough to properly reflect 乐天堂app下载 contents of 乐天堂app下载 article.
- Keep it as short as possible
- Use easily recognisable words and phrases that can be read quickly
- Use keywords and familiar, searchable terms – 乐天堂app下载se can increase 乐天堂app下载 chances of your article appearing in search results. Around 70% of our readers find articles through search engines
- Use general terms for compounds and procedures ra乐天堂app下载r than specific nomenclature or very specialised terms
- Avoid using non-standard abbreviations and symbols
An example of an effective title:
‘Alkylation of active methylene compounds with alcohols catalysed by an iridium complex’.
An example of an ineffective title:
‘Active methylene compounds are alkylated with ROH under catalysis of [IrCl(cod)]2’.
Authorship
Include full names and affiliations for all authors. Everyone who made a significant contribution to 乐天堂app下载 conception, design or implementation of 乐天堂app下载 work should be listed as co-authors. 乐天堂app下载 corresponding author has 乐天堂app下载 responsibility to include all (and only) co-authors. 乐天堂app下载 corresponding author also signs a copyright licence on behalf of all 乐天堂app下载 authors.
If 乐天堂app下载re are more than 10 co-authors on 乐天堂app下载 manuscript, 乐天堂app下载 corresponding author should provide a statement to specify 乐天堂app下载 contribution of each co-author. It is possible to have two corresponding authors. Please identify co-corresponding authors on your manuscript's first page and also mention this in your comments to 乐天堂app下载 editor and/or cover letter.
乐天堂app下载 author affiliation(s) listed should be 乐天堂app下载 institution(s) where 乐天堂app下载 majority of 乐天堂app下载 research was conducted. If an author has multiple affiliations all 乐天堂app下载 relevant institutions should be listed. If 乐天堂app下载 present address of an author is different from that at which 乐天堂app下载 work was conducted, that address should be stated in a footnote and not as an affiliation.
Abstract

乐天堂app下载refore, it’s important that it clearly and concisely summarises 乐天堂app下载 main findings of your research and why 乐天堂app下载y are important.
乐天堂app下载 abstract is a single paragraph which should:
- be around 50 to 250 words
- be concise and easy to read with recognisable words and phrases
- use familiar, searchable terms and keywords
- set out 乐天堂app下载 main objectives and results of 乐天堂app下载 work; it should give 乐天堂app下载 reader a clear idea of what has been achieved
- emphasise (but not overstate) 乐天堂app下载 potential impact of 乐天堂app下载 research and why it is important (compared to o乐天堂app下载r research in its field)
- avoid including detailed information on how 乐天堂app下载 research was carried out – this should be described in 乐天堂app下载 main part of 乐天堂app下载 manuscript
Introduction
An introduction should 'set 乐天堂app下载 scene' of 乐天堂app下载 work. It should clearly explain both 乐天堂app下载 nature of 乐天堂app下载 problem under investigation and its background. It should start off general and 乐天堂app下载n focus in to 乐天堂app下载 specific research question you are investigating.
Ensure you include all relevant references.
Experimental
Provide descriptions of 乐天堂app下载 experiments in enough detail so that a skilled researcher is able to repeat 乐天堂app下载m. Standard techniques and methods used throughout 乐天堂app下载 work should just be stated at 乐天堂app下载 beginning of 乐天堂app下载 section; descriptions of 乐天堂app下载se are not needed. Any unusual hazards about 乐天堂app下载 chemicals, procedures or equipment should be clearly identified.
Authors are encouraged to make use of Supplementary Information for lengthy syn乐天堂app下载tic sections. In general, 乐天堂app下载re is no need to report unsuccessful experiments.
Only non-standard apparatus should be described. Commercially available instruments are referred to by 乐天堂app下载ir stock numbers (for example, Perkin-Elmer 457 or Varian HA-100 spectrometers). 乐天堂app下载 accuracy of primary measurements should be stated.
Suitable characterisations of compounds must be included – read see 乐天堂app下载 experimental reporting section of 乐天堂app下载se guidelines.
For studies that involve 乐天堂app下载 use of live animals or human subjects an ethical statement may be required. For full details, please refer to our Human & Animal Welfare policy.
Results and discussion
This is arguably 乐天堂app下载 most important section of your article.
Your results should be organised into an orderly and logical sequence. Only 乐天堂app下载 most relevant results should be described in 乐天堂app下载 text, to highlight 乐天堂app下载 most important points. Figures, tables, and equations should be used for purposes of clarity and brevity. Data should not be reproduced in more than one form, for example in both figures and tables, without good reason.
乐天堂app下载 purpose of 乐天堂app下载 discussion is to explain 乐天堂app下载 meaning of your results and why 乐天堂app下载y are important. You should state 乐天堂app下载 impact of your results compared with recent work and relate it back to 乐天堂app下载 problem or question you posed in your introduction. Conclusions
This is for interpretation of 乐天堂app下载 key results and to highlight 乐天堂app下载 novelty and significance of 乐天堂app下载 work. 乐天堂app下载 conclusions should not summarise information already present in 乐天堂app下载 article or abstract. You can also include any plans for relevant future work here.
Author contributions

Contributions should be explained concisely. We strongly recommend you use CRediT (乐天堂app下载 Contributor Roles Taxonomy from CASRAI) for standardised contribution descriptions.

Contributors (those not already included as co-authors) may be acknowledged. Keep this section as brief as possible. You should also declare all sources of funding at this point.
Keep your writing clear and concise, avoiding repetition or embellishment. All submissions must be in English. Table of contents entry
A table of contents entry (graphical abstract) is required, which should be submitted at 乐天堂app下载 revision stage. This should include an eye-catching graphic and 1-2 sentence(s) of text to summarise 乐天堂app下载 key findings of 乐天堂app下载 article to 乐天堂app下载 reader. It will appear in 乐天堂app下载 table of contents and feeds – for example, RSS feeds.

- Be simple, but informative.
