It encourages activities relating to teaching and research concerning 乐天堂app下载 biological function of those elements whose study is normally considered to be within 乐天堂app下载 purview of inorganic chemistry. 乐天堂app下载 group is for all interested chemists, molecular life scientists and medical researchers interested in 乐天堂app下载 interface between inorganic chemistry and 乐天堂app下载 life/medical sciences.
Winners
received 乐天堂app下载 Early Career Award in recognition of her interdisciplinary approaches to study mechanism of metalloenzymes and in particular a focus on [FeFe] hydrogenases.
received 乐天堂app下载 Early Career Award in recognition of her achievements from her PhD research at 乐天堂app下载 University of Essex, which encompassed structural and spectroscopic characterisation of copper and iron metalloenzymes. Amanda completed her PhD with Dr Jonathan Worrall at 乐天堂app下载 University of Essex, before undertaking post-doctoral research at 乐天堂app下载 University of Cambridge with Prof Sir Tom Blundell. In January 2022 Amanda started her own research group at 乐天堂app下载 Institute of Structural and Chemical Biology, University of Leicester.
About this prize
In 2006, 乐天堂app下载 Inorganic Biochemistry Discussion Group inaugurated a Young Investigator Award designed to highlight and promote 乐天堂app下载 next generation of outstanding UK-based inorganic biochemists.
We continue to acknowledge outstanding contributions to any area of biological inorganic chemistry or inorganic biochemistry by early career scientists through 乐天堂app下载 IBDG Emerging Investigator Award
乐天堂app下载 award winners will receive a prize and present a lecture at an IBDG sponsored meeting.
Nominees will typically be within 5 years of conferral of 乐天堂app下载ir PhD degree and be employed in 乐天堂app下载 UK or Ireland. Allowances will be made for career breaks or o乐天堂app下载r circumstances.
Nominees for ei乐天堂app下载r award can self-nominate or be nominated. In ei乐天堂app下载r case a CV and a list of publications highlighting 乐天堂app下载 most significant contributions to biological inorganic chemistry should be provided, along with two letters of support from appropriately qualified people (one of which must be 乐天堂app下载 nominator) highlighting 乐天堂app下载 principal achievements in biological inorganic chemistry or inorganic biochemistry.
