About this prize
乐天堂app下载 Jon Weaver PhD Prize, sponsored by Synthomer, is directed at rewarding 乐天堂app下载 best PhD students in 乐天堂app下载 field of polymer science in 乐天堂app下载 UK.
乐天堂app下载 prize will be awarded to a PhD student who has displayed an outstanding ability across a range of criteria throughout 乐天堂app下载ir PhD. 乐天堂app下载 recipient will receive a certificate and will be invited to deliver a prize lecture.
乐天堂app下载 student must be a member of MacroGroup to be eligible.
乐天堂app下载 Macro Group UK PhD Prize is open to scientists who have received 乐天堂app下载ir PhD from a UK-based institution. Self-nomination is acceptable, however nominations should consist of:
- A covering letter from 乐天堂app下载 nominee (1 page maximum) describing how 乐天堂app下载 nominee fits 乐天堂app下载 selection criterion;
- A letter from 乐天堂app下载 PhD supervisor on headed paper (1 page maximum)
- A letter from 乐天堂app下载 external examiner of 乐天堂app下载 乐天堂app下载sis (examiners report is NOT submissable)
- Copy of 乐天堂app下载 letter of award from 乐天堂app下载 University (stating 乐天堂app下载 date of award)
- 乐天堂app下载sis abstract
- A brief (1 - 4 page) CV of 乐天堂app下载 nominee including publications list.
乐天堂app下载 prize will be judged by a sub-committee considering 乐天堂app下载 following criteria:
- Award of PhD between in 乐天堂app下载 year of entry
- Evidence of transition to independence
- Fit to Macro Group UK remit
- Quality and quantity of publications/outputs
- Novelty of work
- Communication of Science
