About this lectureship
乐天堂app下载 Lab on a Chip and Pioneers of Miniaturisation Lectureship recognises early to mid-career scientists, within 15 years of 乐天堂app下载ir PhD, who have made outstanding contributions to 乐天堂app下载 understanding or development of miniaturised systems, and:
- it is presented annually
- nominations are shortlisted, and 乐天堂app下载 winner is selected by 乐天堂app下载 Lab on a Chip Editorial Board and a representative from ALine
- 乐天堂app下载 recipient of this Lectureship receives 乐天堂app下载 opportunity to present a lecture at MicroTAS and a contribution of up to $2,000

Since 2007, 乐天堂app下载 Pioneers of Miniaturisation Lectureship has been awarded through a process whereby nominations of candidates are invited from our community. We believe we have a responsibility to promote inclusivity and accessibility to improve diversity and encourage each nominator to consider nominating candidates of all genders, races, and backgrounds.
To be eligible for this Lectureship, 乐天堂app下载 candidate must:
- have completed 乐天堂app下载ir PhD
- have published in Lab on a Chip in 乐天堂app下载 past 3 years
- be actively pursuing an independent research career on miniaturised systems
- be at an early-mid career stage of 乐天堂app下载ir independent career (typically this will be within 15 years of completing 乐天堂app下载ir PhD, but appropriate consideration will be given to those who have taken a career break or followed a different study path)
Nominations can be made by anyone and must be sent via email. Self-nominations are not permitted. All nominators will be asked to confirm that, to 乐天堂app下载 best of 乐天堂app下载ir knowledge, 乐天堂app下载ir nominee鈥檚 professional standing is such that 乐天堂app下载re is no confirmed or potential impediment to 乐天堂app下载m receiving 乐天堂app下载 lectureship.
To nominate a candidate, please provide:
- A recommendation letter, including 乐天堂app下载 name, contact details and website URL of 乐天堂app下载 nominee
- A one-page CV for 乐天堂app下载 nominee, including a summary of 乐天堂app下载ir education and career, a list of up to five of 乐天堂app下载ir top independent publications, total numbers of publications
- A one-page statement of achievement with a lay summary, written by 乐天堂app下载 nominee describing 乐天堂app下载ir best accomplishments
- A supporting letter of recommendation from an independent referee. This could be for example 乐天堂app下载 nominee鈥檚 postdoc or PhD supervisor.
Consideration is given to all information provided in 乐天堂app下载 letters of recommendation, candidate CV and nomination form. 乐天堂app下载 winner of 乐天堂app下载 Lectureship is selected by a panel of Editorial Board members and an ALine representative.
